World ( The cow news digital ) A surprising procedural development has emerged in a legal case involving former Prime Minister Imran Khan, after police in Islamabad submitted a fresh challan in a matter where the accused had already been acquitted by the court.
The case, originally registered at Tarnol Police Station in connection with a protest march, had previously concluded with a clear acquittal decision. Despite this, the Islamabad Police later submitted a new challan in the same matter before the District and Sessions Court in Islamabad.
The hearing was conducted before Judicial Magistrate Shehzad Khan at the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad. Legal representatives for Imran Khan, including defense counsel Sardar Masroof Khan and Zahid Bashir Dar, appeared before the court during the proceedings.
During the hearing, the defense strongly objected to the filing of a new challan in a case that had already been adjudicated. Counsel for the former prime minister argued that this was an unprecedented situation in judicial history, where a defendant who had been acquitted in a case was again subjected to fresh prosecution based on the same facts.
The defense further stated that the same court had already issued an acquittal order in the matter, making the new submission legally redundant and procedurally invalid. In response, the judge directed the defense to present the earlier acquittal order for review, so that the official record could be verified.
After reviewing the documentation provided by the defense, the court confirmed that an acquittal had already been granted in the case. Following this confirmation, the court ordered the new challan to be filed away and closed the proceedings.
The case originated from charges linked to protest activities associated with a political march, which had led to the registration of an FIR at Tarnol Police Station in Islamabad. Over time, the matter had already been resolved through judicial proceedings resulting in acquittal.
Legal experts observing the development have described the situation as highly unusual, raising questions about procedural coordination between law enforcement agencies and judicial record management. They note that such incidents highlight the importance of accurate case tracking within the criminal justice system.

The incident has also sparked broader discussion within legal circles regarding administrative oversight and the need for improved communication between investigative bodies and courts to prevent duplication of legal actions.
As the matter concludes once again in court, attention now shifts to how law enforcement authorities will address procedural gaps that led to the re-submission of a closed case.
