SWABI — Former Speaker of the National Assembly and Secretary General of Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aaeen-e-Pakistan Asad Qaiser announced that opposition political parties will join forces for a planned long march on September 27.
Speaking at the inauguration of a community center in Bamkheil, Swabi district, Qaiser addressed current political dynamics, asserting that despite a general decline in public respect for politicians, he has successfully unified political parties on a shared platform.
Qaiser identified law and order as the primary challenge facing the country, attributing rising instability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to federal government policies. He stated that citizens feel abandoned amid worsening conditions, referencing similar challenges in Balochistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Criticizing the performance of the current parliament, the former speaker alleged that the assembly has failed to enact legislation benefiting the general public. He called on citizens to mobilize if they seek an independent judiciary, a strong parliament, economic relief from inflation, and national sovereignty.
Emphasizing that governance decisions must rest solely with the Pakistani public, Qaiser reaffirmed his party’s stance against external political pressure. He concluded his address by expressing confidence in the eventual release of former Prime Minister Imran Khan from prison and called for strict adherence to Supreme Court rulings.
