LAHORE: An Additional District and Sessions Court in Lahore has adjourned the post-arrest bail hearing of TikToker Laraib Shahzadi, who was arrested for her alleged involvement in the murder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) local leader Abdullah Tahir, until September 1.
Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Yousaf presided over the court proceedings regarding the post-arrest bail application filed by the accused. Laraib Shahzadi’s legal counsel, Advocate Muhammad Azhar Meyo, appeared before the court to present arguments in defense of the accused social media influencer.
Defense counsel argued that PTI leader Abdullah Tahir was shot and killed by unknown shooters inside a private clinic located in the Gulberg area of Lahore. The lawyer contended before the court that Laraib Shahzadi had no connection or role in the fatal shooting, asserting that she had been wrongfully implicated in the murder investigation. He requested the court to grant post-arrest bail to the accused.
After hearing initial arguments, the court deferred further proceedings and adjourned the hearing until September 1, 2026. The police investigation into the murder case remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the complete chain of events leading to the targeted attack.
