RAWALPINDI(The COW News Digital) Pakistan’s security forces killed eight suspected militants during two intelligence-based operations conducted in Balochistan’s Kharan and Mastung districts, according to a statement issued by the military’s media wing on Saturday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations were carried out on June 25 and 26 following intelligence reports regarding the movement and presence of militants linked to what the military described as the “Fitna al Hindustan” network.

The first operation took place in Kharan district on June 25 after security agencies received credible intelligence about the movement of armed militants in the area. Troops launched a swift and coordinated raid, resulting in the deaths of three suspected militants. The military added that several others were believed to have been injured during the exchange of fire.

A second intelligence-based operation was conducted the following day in Mastung district after reports indicated the presence of a suspected suicide bomber at a militant hideout. Security forces surrounded and targeted the location, triggering a fierce gun battle. According to the ISPR, five militants, including the suspected suicide bomber, were killed during the operation.

The military said security personnel recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles allegedly used by the militants.

Following the operations, security forces launched clearance activities in the surrounding areas to ensure that any remaining militant elements were located and eliminated. The ISPR stated that these efforts remain ongoing.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to counterterrorism, the military said security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue operations under the National Action Plan and the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy approved by the Federal Apex Committee.

The statement emphasized that counterterrorism operations would continue until all externally supported militant networks operating within the country were dismantled. Authorities reiterated their resolve to maintain pressure on armed groups and strengthen security across vulnerable regions, particularly in Balochistan, where security forces have conducted multiple intelligence-led operations in recent months.

No casualties among security personnel were reported in the official statement.
