World ( The cow news digital ) Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Raja Nasir Abbas, stated that the opposition alliance remains prepared for constructive political dialogue, but accused the ruling government of lacking seriousness in resolving ongoing political issues.
Speaking to Geo News, Abbas emphasized that the opposition has consistently advocated for political engagement and dialogue. He revealed that senior leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai had even offered to meet the government delegation at the Parliament’s Constitution Room or at Rana Sanaullah’s residence to initiate talks, but the government showed no interest.
“The opposition is ready to meet the Prime Minister and the government delegation for meaningful dialogue,” Abbas said, calling on the administration to take concrete steps. He added that although he is currently in Iraq for Arbaeen, he would return to Pakistan immediately if talks were scheduled.
Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aine-Pakistan Criticizes Government Actions
Adding to the critique, Akhunzada Hussain Yousafzai, spokesman for the Tehreek Tahafuz-e-Aine-Pakistan (TTAP) coalition, stated that genuine negotiations require a conducive environment. He argued that the government’s registration of anti-terrorism cases against opposition members reflects a lack of goodwill.
Yousafzai noted that if the government were truly interested in dialogue, it would facilitate meetings with imprisoned leadership at Adiala Jail. He alleged that access is currently restricted, preventing not only political leaders but even immediate family members from meeting detained figures.
Both leaders urged the government to abandon confrontational tactics and demonstrate genuine intent toward political reconciliation.
