Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central General Secretary Salman Akram Raja has stated that Mishal Yousafzai is not acting alone and is backed by a specific internal faction, adding that the complete truth regarding party dynamics will soon come to light.
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Raja clarified his stance on recent controversies, stating that he does not possess the sole authority to expel Yousafzai from her Senate position. He emphasized that he chose a path of patience and overlooking certain matters to prevent potential chaos and division within the party ranks.
“I exercised restraint, otherwise, it would have created severe turmoil within the party,” Raja remarked. He further noted that he remains unaware of who originally recommended Yousafzai for a Senate seat, stating that he has no intention of unnecessarily fueling past disputes.
The statements follow a leaked audio conversation between Raja and Yousafzai that surfaced recently, triggering widespread media attention and debate. During the leaked exchange, Raja defended his integrity, stating that his life is an open book with no moments vulnerable to allegations.
In response, Yousafzai accused Raja of leveraging the PTI founding chairman’s social media accounts for personal objectives, warning that she could reveal further details in writing that would shock him. Close party sources confirmed that the exchange involved a heated verbal disagreement between the two prominent figures.
This development highlights growing internal challenges within the opposition party as leadership navigates administrative decisions, policy direction, and digital communication strategies. Political analysts suggest that resolving these internal grievances amicably will be critical for PTI as it continues its political and legal battles in the federal capital.
