PM Reaffirms Resolve Against Cross-Border Terrorism

KARACHI(The COW News Digial) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism from its territory, stating that the country will continue taking decisive measures to safeguard national security and regional stability.

Addressing the Pakistan Navy Passing Out Parade on Saturday, the prime minister congratulated the graduating cadets and welcomed the participation of cadets from friendly nations, describing their presence as a reflection of Pakistan’s strong defense partnerships and international cooperation.

Shehbaz Sharif praised the Pakistan Navy for its professionalism and unwavering dedication, saying the naval force has consistently demonstrated courage and excellence in protecting the country’s maritime frontiers. He added that the Navy’s contributions during critical national operations would remain an important part of Pakistan’s military history.

Referring to recent diplomatic developments involving Iran and the United States, the prime minister said the signing of the Islamabad Agreement marked a significant diplomatic achievement for Pakistan. He credited the country’s sincere diplomatic efforts for promoting dialogue and regional peace while appreciating the role of Pakistan’s military leadership, including Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, in supporting initiatives aimed at stability.

The prime minister said the region is witnessing significant geopolitical changes that will have long-term implications. He alleged that Pakistan’s eastern neighbor continues to rely on proxy groups following recent setbacks, adding that Pakistan remains fully determined to eliminate all forms of externally backed terrorism with the support of its armed forces and law enforcement agencies.

Highlighting regional diplomacy, Shehbaz Sharif described the recent visit of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian as a clear demonstration of the strong brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran. He said the visit also reflected Pakistan’s growing importance in regional affairs and its constructive role in promoting peace and cooperation.

Reiterating Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities, the prime minister said the country remains committed to peace and dialogue while continuing to advocate for justice through diplomatic channels. He emphasized that Pakistan would maintain its longstanding support for the people of Kashmir and Palestine and continue raising their concerns at international forums.

The prime minister concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening national security, enhancing regional cooperation, and ensuring that Pakistan remains a responsible partner in efforts to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development across the region.
