National ( The cow news digital ) Concerns have emerged within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ranks over the recent expansion of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, with several party leaders expressing reservations about the selection process and lack of consultation.

Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor and PTI leader Shah Farman stated that while he congratulates the newly inducted cabinet members, he was neither consulted nor informed about the inclusion of new ministers despite being part of the party’s internal accountability committee. He emphasized that no input was taken from him regarding cabinet formation.

Separately, former provincial minister Nek Muhammad criticized the cabinet expansion, alleging that merit was not followed in the selection process. He claimed that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was not responsive to party members’ concerns, though he clarified that discussions were not about seeking personal ministries.

Nek Muhammad further alleged that individuals with family connections to Members of the National Assembly were included in the cabinet, while certain regions such as North and South Waziristan and Bannu were not represented. He argued that this lack of regional balance has created dissatisfaction among party workers.

According to official details, the provincial government recently inducted six new ministers, four advisers, and eight special assistants into the cabinet as part of its administrative expansion. The newly appointed members have already taken oath of office, administered by the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi.

The development has sparked internal debate within PTI circles, highlighting ongoing tensions over governance decisions, representation, and internal party consultation processes in the province.
