This time, on Thursday, unknown assailants opened fire again, leaving bullet marks on the cafe’s windows. Local residents reported being jolted awake by the sound of gunshots, and a video allegedly capturing the incident circulated widely on social media, featuring the unmistakable sounds of gunfire. The escalation has sparked fear and speculation about the motives behind these attacks.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a well-known criminal group with ties to organized crime, along with Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon, publicly accepted responsibility for the attack. A social media post purportedly from the gang stated: “Today’s firing at Kapil Sharma’s Caps Cafe was carried out by Goldy Dhillon and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. We had tried to call, but no response was received, so we were forced to take this action. If calls are ignored again, further actions will take place soon in Mumbai.”
Kapil Sharma, a famed Indian comedian and actor, had recently opened the cafe, which quickly gained popularity among fans and locals. The initial shooting incident was claimed by terrorist Harjit Singh, who demanded an apology from Kapil Sharma over controversial comments.
