Rawalpindi(The COW News Digital) Police have ended a sit-in near Adiala Jail at the Gorakhpur checkpoint, releasing multiple Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists, including Alima Khan, Noorain Niazi, and Azma Khan. The demonstration was staged after PTI founder Imran Khan’s family members were denied access to meet him at the jail.
Alima Khan, sister of Imran Khan, had refused to end the sit-in on Adiala Road, prompting police to conduct an operation. Authorities took between eight to ten activists into custody and placed them in a police van to disperse the gathering. During the standoff, Noorain Niazi’s health reportedly deteriorated, adding urgency to the situation.

Following the operation, police successfully cleared the checkpoint, and all detained activists, including Imran Khan’s sisters, were released at the Chakri Interchange.
