Carvey revealed that she only plays the Powerball when the jackpot is exceptionally high. In September, when the Powerball prize exceeded $1 billion, she decided to purchase a ticket online. Seeking an edge, she asked ChatGPT for a set of lottery numbers. I simply requested a number set for Powerball from ChatGPT and used those numbers to buy my ticket,
On September 6, the drawing matched four white balls and the Powerball from her ticket, initially awarding her $50,000. However, due to the *Power Play option, the prize doubled, resulting in a total of $100,000.
Carvey described the moment of realization: At first, I noticed I had won something, but when I logged into my lottery account, I realized the prize had doubled. My husband and I were completely stunned. We couldn’t believe that the numbers suggested by ChatGPT actually won.
The winner plans to use part of her winnings to pay off her home loan and save the remaining amount for future security. Carvey’s experience highlights the increasing role of AI in daily life and even in games of chance.
