The remarks were made by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting with Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir in Beijing.
According to China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, regional stability, and ongoing strategic partnerships between the two countries. Both sides reiterated their commitment to expanding collaboration in areas of mutual interest, particularly defense and economic development.
During the meeting, Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized that the Pakistan-China friendship remains steadfast despite global uncertainties. He also highlighted China’s growing global influence and acknowledged initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and China’s global development frameworks, stating that these efforts have played an important role in promoting international peace and economic progress.
The Field Marshal assured continued cooperation from the Pakistan Army in supporting projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), describing it as a key pillar of bilateral economic and strategic engagement.
