World ( The cow news digital ) At least four people were killed and eight others injured after a gunman opened fire in a restaurant in Türkiye’s southern Mersin province, according to Turkish media reports.

Authorities said the incident took place in the northern part of the province, where an armed suspect entered a restaurant and began firing indiscriminately. The attack initially killed the restaurant owner and a staff member inside the premises.

Following the initial shooting, the attacker reportedly exited the restaurant and continued firing outside, killing two more individuals. The sudden escalation caused panic in the area, with several bystanders caught in the attack and injured.

Local reports further suggest that the suspect may have killed his wife prior to the restaurant shooting, though this aspect of the case remains under investigation. Law enforcement officials have not yet confirmed a motive and are continuing to examine all possible angles.

Turkish police launched a large-scale manhunt for the suspect shortly after the incident. Helicopters were deployed as part of the search operation, while security forces sealed off surrounding areas to prevent escape routes.

Authorities have described the attack as a serious public safety incident, and investigations are ongoing to determine whether the suspect had any prior criminal record or connections that could explain the violence.

The tragedy has once again raised concerns about gun violence and public security in the region, as officials continue efforts to locate and apprehend the suspect.
