Indonesia (The COW News Digital) Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized the need to remain vigilant against groups attempting to sabotage peace efforts in Gaza. The remarks came during an interview following his participation in the inaugural session of the Gaza Peace Council in Washington, aimed at supporting reconstruction and long-term stability in the region.

“Certainly, we must exercise caution against groups trying to hinder progress toward a comprehensive solution,” Subianto told reporters. “Such actions could come from various actors, but the international community must remain united in its support for Gaza’s rebuilding and peace.”
The opening session of the Peace Council served as a platform to officially launch the initiative and bring member states together to coordinate assistance for Gaza. The forum is intended to strengthen commitments from participating countries and establish a framework for continued international engagement.
Highlighting Indonesia’s contribution, President Subianto announced that Jakarta plans to deploy approximately 8,000 troops to Gaza within one to two months. These forces are intended to act as peacekeeping personnel to help maintain stability and ensure safe reconstruction efforts. “This deployment can be completed within one to two months,” he said, according to Indonesia’s Antara news agency.
The Indonesian leader stressed that the mission aims to support humanitarian and peacekeeping objectives rather than provoke any conflict. “Our goal is to assist in maintaining peace and security on the ground while facilitating reconstruction for the people of Gaza,” Subianto explained.
