Iran(The COW News Digital)Iran has issued a strong warning to the United States, vowing severe retaliation if any attempt is made to target the country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The warning follows recent remarks by former US President Donald Trump, which Iranian officials interpreted as a direct threat to the Iranian leadership.
According to international news agencies, the spokesperson of Iran’s armed forces, General Abolfazl Shekarchi, released an official statement emphasizing the protection of the Supreme Leader. He stated that any aggressive or direct action against Ayatollah Khamenei would result in serious and far-reaching consequences.
“The hand that moves toward our Supreme Leader will be cut off,” Shekarchi said, adding that those responsible would face devastating repercussions. He warned that Iran would respond in a manner that would “set their world on fire,” underlining Tehran’s readiness to defend its leadership and sovereignty at all costs.

Iranian officials reiterated that the country would not hesitate to take extreme measures if its highest authority were threatened. The armed forces spokesperson stressed that Iran’s military remains fully prepared to confront any external aggression and safeguard national stability.
Separately, Iran’s president also issued a warning, stating that any attack on the Supreme Leader could trigger a full-scale war. He said responsibility for any new confrontation in the region would lie entirely with the United States, while Iran would not be held accountable for the consequences.
Tensions between Tehran and Washington have escalated in recent days following Trump’s comments in a media interview, in which he criticized Ayatollah Khamenei and spoke about the need for new leadership in Iran. Iranian authorities viewed these remarks as provocative and a direct challenge to the country’s political system.
The latest exchange of warnings comes at a time when Iran is facing widespread protests over deteriorating economic conditions. Iranian officials have accused the United States of fueling unrest inside the country, alleging foreign interference behind violent demonstrations. Trump, on the other hand, has warned that if detained protesters are executed, the US would consider launching a major response.
Analysts believe the sharp rhetoric reflects growing instability in US-Iran relations, with both sides adopting increasingly hardline positions. The situation has raised concerns among regional and international observers, who fear that continued escalation could further destabilize the Middle East.
As tensions rise, diplomatic channels appear strained, leaving uncertainty over whether dialogue or confrontation will shape the next phase of relations between Iran and the United States.
