World ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan has stated that efforts toward a ceasefire in Lebanon are part of a broader diplomatic and negotiation process, emphasizing that the end of armed hostilities in the country is essential for regional peace and stability.
Speaking at a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, the Foreign Office spokesperson said that developments related to Lebanon should be viewed within the context of ongoing diplomatic initiatives. He stressed that the continuation of armed actions in Lebanon is concerning and that a peaceful resolution remains necessary for long-term stability in the region.
The spokesperson highlighted that recent diplomatic efforts, including high-level meetings and delegations in Tehran, are part of a continuous process aimed at maintaining dialogue among key stakeholders. He said Pakistan’s role in facilitating communication between relevant parties is ongoing and focused on promoting peace and stability.
Referring to Iran–US talks, the spokesperson said that negotiations between the two sides have continued in a structured manner without any major breakthrough or breakdown. He described the discussions as lengthy and serious, noting that delegations engaged in approximately 21 hours of continuous dialogue covering complex issues in detail.
He added that such extended negotiations reflect the seriousness and commitment of all parties involved, and said Pakistan acknowledges the constructive approach adopted during the process. According to him, diplomatic engagement of this scale requires patience, trust, and confidentiality.
The spokesperson further stated that Pakistan does not comment on sensitive diplomatic communications between parties, emphasizing that confidentiality is essential for maintaining trust in mediation efforts. He said any information shared with Pakistan in this context is treated as a responsibility and handled with discretion.
Pakistan reiterated that it will continue to support peace efforts as a facilitator and mediator where required, maintaining contact with regional and international stakeholders including Tehran and Washington. The spokesperson said that diplomatic outreach remains an ongoing process aimed at encouraging dialogue and reducing tensions.
He also noted that Pakistan maintains close relations with multiple countries, including the United Arab Emirates, and has consistently condemned attacks on friendly states in clear terms.
