According to international media reports citing Russia’s Ministry of Defense, the strikes were conducted by the Russian military’s Battle Group South. The ministry said an SU-34 frontline bomber aircraft was used to hit what it described as Ukrainian military and electricity-related facilities. The claim could not be independently verified.
In an official statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the operation involved an SU-34 multirole supersonic fighter-bomber belonging to the country’s Aerospace Forces. The aircraft reportedly deployed aerial bombs equipped with a unified glide and adjustment module, allowing the munitions to strike targets from a distance while remaining outside the reach of certain air defense systems.

Russian officials stated that the targets were successfully hit and that confirmation of destruction was obtained through reconnaissance data. Following the mission, the aircraft crew reportedly returned safely to their base. Ukraine has not immediately commented on the Russian claims. In past incidents, Kyiv has often disputed Moscow’s statements, accusing Russia of exaggerating battlefield successes and deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure, particularly energy facilities.
