World ( The cow news digital ) South Indian actor Jay has spoken openly about his spiritual journey and decision to embrace Islam, revealing that his experiences inside a mosque deeply influenced his perspective on equality, faith, and personal peace.
In a recent interview, the Tamil film actor shared details about the path that eventually led him to convert to Islam in 2019. According to Jay, his spiritual exploration began years earlier in 2011 when he started learning more about different religions while searching for inner peace and clarity.
The actor explained that before embracing Islam, he had explored multiple faith traditions. He recalled wearing the sacred mala associated with the Sabarimala pilgrimage and later feeling drawn toward Christianity for nearly a year. However, he said certain unpleasant experiences and disrespectful behavior he encountered at some temples left him emotionally disappointed and spiritually unsettled.
Jay described a turning point when he visited a mosque for the first time. He said the atmosphere inside the mosque had a profound impact on him because everyone stood together equally during prayer, regardless of social status or fame.
According to the actor, people at the mosque recognized him as a public figure, yet no one treated him differently. He noted that nobody attempted to take photographs or seek attention while inside the place of worship. Instead, people approached him politely only after prayers had concluded.
Jay said this experience made him realize that in Islam, wealth, fame, and influence hold no importance before God. He explained that the feeling of equality and humility he witnessed in the mosque deeply moved him and eventually strengthened his connection with the faith.
The actor further stated that worship in the mosque felt peaceful and free from pressure, allowing individuals to pray at their own pace without disturbance. He added that embracing Islam brought significant changes to his personality and thinking.
Jay also reflected briefly on his acting career, noting that he entered the Tamil film industry in 2002 alongside actor and current Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin’s political rival and film star Vijay through an early film project.
His remarks have gained attention across social media, with many users discussing his spiritual journey and personal reflections on faith, equality, and identity.
