World ( The cow news digital ) US President Donald Trump has dismissed reports suggesting that negotiations between Washington and Tehran have been suspended, stating that discussions with Iran are continuing without interruption.
In a statement shared on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump described claims of a pause in US-Iran talks as “false and baseless,” insisting that diplomatic communication between the two sides has remained active over recent days.
He said that conversations have been ongoing consistently, adding that engagement reportedly took place four days ago, three days ago, two days ago, one day ago, and even on the same day of his statement. According to him, the idea that negotiations had stopped was incorrect and misleading.
Trump emphasized that while the outcome of the discussions remains uncertain, he has repeatedly urged Iran to reach an agreement. He added that Iran has been involved in similar disputes for decades and suggested that continuation of such tensions was not sustainable.
The remarks come amid ongoing international attention on US-Iran relations, particularly concerning Iran’s nuclear programme and broader regional security concerns. Diplomatic efforts have continued alongside rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
Earlier, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme could take several months to complete. He noted that technical expert teams would be required to address complex issues involved in any potential agreement.
Rubio also highlighted the importance of addressing security conditions in the Strait of Hormuz as part of broader regional stability discussions. However, he clarified that the United States had not offered sanctions relief in exchange for reopening or stabilizing the strategic waterway.
