Kentucky ( the cow news digital ) U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that the United States has effectively won the war against Iran, but said American forces will remain engaged until their objectives in the region are fully achieved.
Speaking during a rally in Kentucky, Trump said the U.S. military had inflicted heavy damage on Iran’s naval and air capabilities during the past 11 days of conflict. According to the president, American forces destroyed dozens of Iranian naval vessels and neutralized multiple sea mines that could have threatened maritime routes.
“We have already won the war against Iran. In fact, we won it in the first hour,” Trump told supporters at the rally. “But we are not leaving soon. We will stay until our objectives are fully accomplished.”
The U.S. president further claimed that American forces had destroyed 58 Iranian naval ships and rendered 31 naval mines inoperable during operations in the region. The mines, he said, posed a serious threat to international shipping lanes and energy transportation routes.
Trump also stated that Iranian naval capabilities had been severely weakened, claiming that much of Iran’s naval presence had been neutralized at sea while its air force had also suffered major losses during the conflict. Independent verification of these claims has not yet been confirmed by international observers.
Addressing the global oil situation, Trump said the International Energy Agency had agreed to release 400 million barrels of oil from petroleum reserves in order to stabilize global energy markets. He argued that the move would help reduce oil prices and ease pressure on consumers and businesses worldwide.
The president also authorized the United States Department of Energy to release 172 million barrels from the country’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve starting next week. According to the department, distributing oil from the reserves to the market could take up to 120 days.
Energy analysts say such releases from strategic reserves are typically used to calm markets during major geopolitical crises or supply disruptions. The move is expected to influence global oil prices if implemented at the scale described by the U.S. administration.
Trump’s remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, with the conflict raising concerns about regional stability, global energy supplies, and the risk of wider military escalation.
