Türkiye (The COW News Digital)Türkiye has expressed its readiness to deploy troops to Gaza as part of an international peace initiative, signaling a potential expansion of its role in efforts to stabilize the conflict-hit region.

Speaking in a special interview on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Ankara is prepared to contribute military personnel under a broader peace framework aimed at restoring stability in Gaza. He emphasized that any deployment would be carried out in coordination with international partners and within an agreed multilateral mechanism.

Fidan stated that Türkiye has already taken an active role in diplomatic efforts related to Gaza, including participation in the Board of Peace and involvement in an executive committee focused on the situation in the enclave. He added that Türkiye has also been providing significant humanitarian assistance to support civilians affected by the ongoing crisis.

“Our country is ready to offer every possible contribution to the Gaza peace plan,” Fidan said, noting that Türkiye is willing to become part of an international stabilization force if such a mechanism is established. He stressed that lasting peace in Gaza would require not only security arrangements but also political engagement and sustained humanitarian support.

The foreign minister underlined that Türkiye views peacekeeping and stabilization efforts as essential steps toward preventing further violence and ensuring the protection of civilians. He said Ankara is carefully evaluating all options that could help create durable peace conditions on the ground.

Fidan also highlighted Türkiye’s broader diplomatic approach, stating that the country supports collective international action rather than unilateral measures. He argued that sustainable peace in Gaza can only be achieved through coordinated efforts involving regional and global stakeholders.

Türkiye’s willingness to deploy troops reflects growing international discussions about the possible formation of a multinational force to oversee ceasefire arrangements and facilitate humanitarian access in Gaza. While no final decision has been announced regarding the structure or mandate of such a force, officials say talks are ongoing among key international actors.

Analysts note that Türkiye’s offer could increase diplomatic momentum around peace initiatives, particularly given Ankara’s longstanding involvement in regional mediation and humanitarian relief efforts. However, they caution that any troop deployment would depend on political agreements, security guarantees, and international authorization.

As the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains critical, Türkiye has reiterated its commitment to supporting peace efforts through diplomacy, aid, and, if required, security contributions aimed at long-term stability.
