Washington:(The COW News Digital) The United States has approved a $1.3 billion loan to support Pakistan’s Reko Diq mining project, officials confirmed on Thursday.
The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by the U.S. Secretary of State, where discussions focused on securing the supply of critical minerals and enhancing global mining logistics.

Delegates at the meeting agreed on the importance of developing new supply chain sources, as well as establishing safe and reliable transport and logistics networks to ensure smooth mineral exports.
Under this framework, the approved loan will be provided to Pakistan through the U.S. Export-Import Bank, as part of President Donald Trump’s Vault Project initiative. The funding aims to accelerate the development of the Reko Diq project, which is considered a game-changer for Pakistan’s mining sector.
Officials emphasized that the move strengthens bilateral cooperation in strategic mineral resources and underscores the U.S. commitment to supporting Pakistan’s large-scale industrial projects.
