WASHINGTON(The COW News Digital) A senior Pentagon official confirmed that the United States will not deploy troops to the Gaza Strip, dismissing reports circulating in Israeli media as inaccurate. However, the official acknowledged that planning is underway to station international forces near Palestinian territories to support stability efforts.

The forces are expected to operate under an International Stabilization Force (ISF) framework and will back the Gaza peace plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. The Pentagon emphasized that no U.S. soldiers will be deployed inside Gaza itself, and any contrary reports are false.

Israeli media had previously reported that the U.S. intended to establish a military base near the Gaza border costing $500 million, capable of housing several thousand American troops. Pentagon officials clarified that these reports are incorrect, but confirmed that options are being explored with global military allies to position multinational forces in the vicinity of Gaza for stabilization purposes.

The international deployment is part of broader efforts to maintain peace and order following the ceasefire agreement on October 10, which was based on a 20-point plan presented by President Trump. The ISF will play a key role in assisting local authorities and maintaining stability as Israeli forces withdraw from Gaza.

The conflict in Gaza has taken a devastating toll on civilians. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, Israeli hostilities have resulted in over 69,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 170,600 injuries since 2023. The deployment of international stabilization forces aims to prevent further escalation and protect civilian populations during the transitional period.

Pentagon officials highlighted that the planning of international forces is a cooperative effort involving multiple countries, intended to provide logistical and security support without direct U.S. troop involvement inside Gaza. “The goal is to support peace and stability while respecting the sensitive dynamics of the region,” the official said.

The clarification from Washington underscores the U.S. commitment to regional stability while addressing misinformation. It also signals ongoing efforts to coordinate with international partners to ensure effective implementation of peace and stabilization measures in Gaza.

The situation remains fluid, and officials stressed the importance of following verified updates as multinational operations and diplomatic efforts continue to unfold in the region.
