World ( The cow news digital ) United States Vice President JD Vance has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic role and acknowledged the leadership of Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir during high-level engagements held alongside Iran–US technical talks in Switzerland.

Speaking during a series of diplomatic interactions in the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock, Vance expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s contribution to facilitating dialogue between the United States and Iran. He stated that Pakistan’s involvement had been instrumental in enabling progress toward diplomatic engagement, adding that the United States “values its relationship with Pakistan.”

In remarks that drew significant attention, the US Vice President described Field Marshal Asim Munir as a “great military leader” and credited him for his role in regional stability efforts. “If he had not been there, we would not be here today,” Vance reportedly said, emphasizing Munir’s importance in supporting the broader diplomatic process.

Vance also highlighted his personal interactions with key figures in South Asia, noting symbolic ties between the United States, Pakistan, and India. In a light-hearted comment, he said that two of the most important people in his life were connected to the region—his wife from India and Field Marshal Asim Munir from Pakistan.

The US Vice President further stated that he had engaged in frequent discussions with the Pakistani military leadership over the past three months, describing Munir not only as a military strategist but also as a capable diplomatic interlocutor. He added that such coordination had contributed to creating conditions for ongoing negotiations.

The remarks came during a period of intensified diplomatic activity involving Pakistan and Qatar as mediators in US–Iran technical talks. Senior officials, including Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, held meetings with US and Iranian representatives on the sidelines of the negotiations.

According to diplomatic sources, the discussions focused on confidence-building measures, maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, and broader regional de-escalation efforts. Pakistan and Qatar are jointly facilitating the process under a structured framework aimed at supporting long-term diplomatic engagement.
