World ( The cow news digital ) Washington: Former US President Donald Trump has claimed that three American destroyer warships successfully transited the strategic Strait of Hormuz, alleging that they came under attack by Iranian forces during the passage but sustained no damage.

In a statement posted on the social media platform Truth Social, Trump said the three US Navy destroyers navigated the narrow and highly sensitive waterway without any operational disruption. He further asserted that Iranian forces attempted to target the vessels during the transit.

According to Trump’s post, Iran allegedly launched missiles at the US warships, which were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their targets. He also claimed that unmanned aerial vehicles were deployed against the destroyers but were “easily neutralized” in the air. No independent verification of these claims has been provided at this stage.

Trump described the Iranian response as ineffective, stating that the attacking small boats were “destroyed” and that Iranian naval units were “sunk in the sea” during the confrontation. He used highly critical language to characterize Iran’s military capabilities, calling the country’s leadership “irrational” and warning of the risks of escalation in the region.

He further argued that a “normal nation” would allow such naval movements without interference, but claimed Iran does not operate under normal international conduct. Trump also reiterated his long-standing position against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, stating that Tehran would have used such weapons if given the opportunity.

In his remarks, Trump added that the United States had effectively “knocked out” Iran in the latest confrontation and urged Tehran to return to negotiations, warning of stronger consequences if diplomatic engagement fails. He said Iran should act quickly to reach an agreement, suggesting further pressure could follow if no deal is reached.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical maritime chokepoints, through which a significant portion of global oil shipments pass. Any military escalation in the area is closely monitored by international markets and naval observers due to its potential global economic impact.

At the time of reporting, Iranian authorities had not issued a detailed public response to the specific claims made in Trump’s statement.
