According to official sources, a senior British military commander along with a small contingent of troops has been stationed in Israel to assist in monitoring and coordinating peace efforts aimed at stabilizing the war-torn Gaza region.
The deployment was confirmed by UK Defence Secretary John Healey, who spoke about the move during an address to business leaders in London on Monday.
