Pakistan’s Egg Exports to US, Gulf Soar Sharply

Islamabad( The COW News Digital)-In a major boost to Pakistan’s agricultural and poultry sectors, the country has recorded a remarkable surge in egg exports to multiple global destinations — including, for the first time, the United States. The development is being hailed as a positive sign for Pakistan’s struggling economy, bringing in much-needed foreign exchange.

According to data released by the Department of Animal Quarantine, Pakistan began exporting eggs to the US in fiscal year 2024–25, marking a significant milestone in its trade diversification efforts. Between July 1, 2025, and October 2025, the country shipped 1,899,240 dozen eggs to the United States, generating $2.37 million in export revenue.

Beyond the US, Pakistani eggs have reached the UAE, Bahrain, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Qatar, Somalia, and Afghanistan, among other markets. Official figures show that:

UAE: $1.72 million worth of exports

Hong Kong: $544,000 Bahrain: $329,950 Kuwait: $316,540 Somalia: $241,000 Afghanistan: $1.07 million
In addition to shell eggs, Pakistan has also expanded its trade in liquid eggs, exporting 1,169 metric tons valued at $2.61 million. The key destinations for these liquid egg exports include Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

When compared with the previous fiscal year, the growth has been substantial. In FY 2023–24, Pakistan’s total egg exports stood at $1.4 million, but in FY 2024–25, the figure jumped to $18.25 million, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase.

Industry analysts attribute this growth to several factors, including improved veterinary standards, quality certification, and better export logistics, which have made Pakistani eggs competitive in international markets. The government’s support for the poultry industry, including incentives for exporters and disease control measures, has also contributed to this success.

Experts say the surge in exports will not only strengthen Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves but also encourage investment and job creation within the poultry value chain. “This is a strong signal that Pakistan can diversify its agro-exports beyond rice and textiles,” said one senior trade economist.

With expanding markets in the Middle East and Asia, Pakistan’s egg export industry appears poised for further growth — a small but promising step toward revitalizing the country’s export base.
