National ( The cow news digital ) A formal written request has been submitted to the jail authorities seeking permission for a meeting with Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder, highlighting ongoing legal and administrative proceedings related to visitation rights.
According to details, the daughter of Bushra Bibi has submitted an application addressed to the Superintendent of the jail, requesting approval for a family meeting. The application was delivered through legal counsel, who visited Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on behalf of the family.
Advocate Chaudhry Owais Younis confirmed that he reached Adiala Jail with the written request under instructions from PTI Secretary General Sardar Salman Akram Raja. He stated that this was the second visit made to the jail for the purpose of submitting documentation and follow-up regarding the meeting request.
The lawyer alleged that jail authorities did not formally accept the submitted application or accompanying representation report. He termed the refusal as a violation of prison rules and stated that it raises concerns regarding procedural compliance and inmate visitation rights.
He further argued that the non-acceptance of official documentation amounts to a breach of established legal procedures and may also constitute a violation of basic human rights, particularly those related to family access and legal correspondence.
According to the legal team, the request pertains to facilitating a meeting between Bushra Bibi and her daughter, which they say is being pursued through proper legal channels. The counsel emphasized that prison authorities are required under law to receive and process such applications in accordance with prescribed rules.
The lawyer added that, in addition to hand delivery, the application has also been sent to the jail superintendent via postal service to ensure formal submission through multiple channels.
Meanwhile, no official statement has yet been issued by jail authorities regarding the acceptance or rejection of the request. The situation remains under observation as legal representatives await a formal response.
The case adds to ongoing legal proceedings involving high-profile individuals, where issues related to detention, visitation rights, and procedural transparency continue to attract public and political attention.
Authorities are expected to respond in due course as per prison regulations and legal requirements governing inmate access and family meetings.
