Islamabad (The COW News Digital)Islamabad Police arrived at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in the federal capital to serve arrest warrants issued against senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The warrants were connected to a case registered at Kohsar Police Station regarding events reported on November 26.

According to official sources, the police team delivered the warrants to the security staff at KP House, as none of the PTI leaders named in the warrants were present at the location. The officers specifically inquired about the whereabouts of Sohail Afridi and Junaid Akbar, both of whom are wanted in the case.

Following the formal handover and confirmation process, the police team returned. KP House officials stated that the procedure was completed without resistance, and no attempt was made to search the premises or detain anyone on site.

The warrants were issued by an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in connection with allegations involving law and order disturbances during political demonstrations. PTI leaders named in the case are accused of participating in or encouraging acts that reportedly led to clashes and public disruption.

Sources familiar with the development said that no PTI leader was currently staying at KP House, which is frequently used by provincial lawmakers, party members, and officials from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa visiting Islamabad on official duties.

The PTI has not yet issued an official response regarding the warrant execution, but party officials have in recent weeks criticized what they describe as “targeted political pressure” and legal action aimed at discouraging their activities.

The Islamabad Police confirmed that the warrants were executed in accordance with legal procedure and that further action will follow based on availability and cooperation of the individuals named.

Legal analysts note that serving warrants at KP House — a provincial government facility — indicates an escalation in the ongoing political and legal confrontation between state institutions and PTI members. They also suggest that more arrests or summonses may be issued depending on the progress of the investigation.

Meanwhile, security officials in the federal capital have been instructed to remain alert as political tensions continue to influence the broader law and order situation.
