Islamabad (The COW News Digital) Pakistani citizens can now apply for Australian visas more easily from the comfort of their homes, thanks to a new mobile application launched by the Australian High Commission in Pakistan. The app allows eligible applicants to submit their passport details and facial biometrics directly from their smartphones, eliminating the need to visit a biometric center.
According to a spokesperson from the High Commission, the service is available for those who have previously provided their biometrics—including facial scans and fingerprints—to Australian authorities and hold a valid passport. Users can now complete the visa application process quickly and securely via the free app, saving both time and money.

Timothy Kane, Australia’s High Commissioner to Pakistan, emphasized that the app simplifies the visa process for travelers, students, and professionals alike. “This app allows people to conveniently submit their information from their phones, making the entire process faster and more efficient,” he said.
The app was originally developed in 2024 and has been successfully used by thousands of applicants across the Asia-Pacific region to streamline visa applications. Following its success, the app is now operational in 34 countries and is set to expand to the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, and Europe in the near future.
High Commissioner Kane urged eligible Pakistani citizens to make use of the app, highlighting its speed, security, and user-friendly interface. “Our goal is to modernize and simplify the visa application process for people around the world,” he added.
The launch in Pakistan marks an important step toward digitalizing and simplifying international travel procedures. By allowing applicants to complete crucial steps from their mobile devices, the Australian High Commission aims to reduce logistical challenges and improve access to travel, education, and work opportunities in Australia.
Officials noted that the global rollout of the app is expected to be fully completed by early 2026, enabling a smoother and more convenient visa process for users in multiple regions worldwide.
This innovative approach reflects Australia’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve consular services, while offering Pakistani travelers an easier, faster, and safer path to visit, study, or work in the country.
