karachi(The COW News Digital)Residents of Karachi are advised to prepare for changing weather conditions as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and thunderstorms across the city over the next three days.

According to the latest weather outlook, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms is expected during the afternoon and evening hours today. Similar weather conditions are likely to continue on Sunday and Monday, with mostly cloudy skies and intermittent rain expected across different parts of the city.

Meteorologists said the weather pattern is being influenced by a low-pressure system that has weakened from a depression and is currently positioned over southeastern Rajasthan, India.

The weather system is drawing moist monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, which continue to affect the upper and central regions of Pakistan. In addition, a western weather system is impacting the country’s northern areas and is expected to strengthen further, extending its influence over several upper and central districts.

The combination of these weather systems is expected to enhance rainfall activity in Karachi and several parts of Sindh. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall and strong winds.

The PMD also forecasts thunderstorms and rain in various rural districts of Sindh under the influence of the active monsoon pattern. In some areas, heavy downpours could lead to urban flooding, especially in low-lying neighborhoods where drainage systems are vulnerable to water accumulation.

Citizens are encouraged to monitor official weather updates, avoid unnecessary travel during intense rainfall, and take precautions against possible flooding, reduced visibility, and traffic disruptions.

Emergency services and local authorities remain on alert as weather conditions continue to evolve, with further advisories expected if rainfall intensity increases in the coming days. The public is urged to follow safety guidelines and stay informed through official meteorological bulletins.
