LOS ANGELES (The COW News Digital) Federal authorities in the United States successfully prevented a planned terrorist attack targeting Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve, arresting four individuals connected to the plot, officials confirmed. The arrests followed a coordinated operation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which acted swiftly to avert potential mass casualties.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed that the arrested group, calling itself the “Turtle Island Liberation Front,” had planned multiple bomb attacks across California. According to Bondi, the group associates itself with anti-government, anti-capitalist, and pro-Palestinian ideologies. Their intended targets included Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, federal vehicles, and two private U.S. companies.

Court documents filed in the Central District of California outlined the details of the alleged plot. The complaint stated that the four accused – Audrey Ellen Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Garfield, and Tina Lai – conspired to plant explosives at five separate locations throughout Los Angeles on New Year’s Eve. A handwritten eight-page document titled “Operation Midnight Sun,” submitted by Carroll to a confidential source in November, provided a blueprint for the attacks, including target locations and methods.

Authorities reported that Carroll and Page recruited the other two individuals to assist in the scheme. The plan involved acquiring materials to assemble explosive devices and conducting test detonations on December 12, 2025, in a remote area of the Mojave Desert. Fortunately, the FBI intercepted the suspects before they could construct any operational explosive devices.

U.S. officials praised the proactive intelligence and investigative measures that allowed law enforcement to act before the plot could escalate. Bondi emphasized that the arrests demonstrate the FBI’s ongoing commitment to preventing domestic terrorism and safeguarding public safety.

This foiled plot is the latest reminder of the evolving nature of threats in the United States, underscoring the importance of inter-agency cooperation, community vigilance, and rapid response capabilities. Authorities continue to investigate the motivations and connections of the group to ensure that no related threats remain active.

The suspects now face charges including conspiracy and possession of unregistered destructive devices, with potential penalties under federal law. Authorities have urged the public to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.
