Naseem Shah Apologizes After Controversial Tweet

World ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah has issued a public apology following a controversial post shared from his social media account, clarifying that the message did not reflect his personal views.

In a statement posted on X, Naseem Shah said the tweet was shared by his social media management team and did not represent his own opinion. He emphasized that he takes full responsibility for his public platforms and has now implemented changes to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future. He also apologized to anyone affected or offended by the post.

The controversy prompted disciplinary action from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), which imposed a fine of 20 million rupees on the fast bowler for violating the terms of his central contract.

According to PCB officials, a show-cause notice was issued to Naseem Shah on 27 March 2026, asking him to explain the alleged breach of contractual and social media guidelines. After receiving his response, a three-member disciplinary committee conducted a hearing on 30 March.

Following a review of his explanation, the committee concluded that although Naseem Shah issued an unconditional apology, he was still found in violation of multiple clauses of his central contract. As a result, the board decided to impose the financial penalty.

The PCB also confirmed that Naseem Shah has dismissed his social media advisor. In addition, the board has decided to blacklist the advisor, preventing them from working with any players under PCB jurisdiction in the future.

The governing body reiterated its commitment to maintaining professional standards, contractual discipline, and the integrity of the sport. Officials stressed that all contracted players are expected to adhere strictly to social media policies and represent the organization responsibly both on and off the field.

Naseem Shah remains one of Pakistan’s leading fast bowlers, and despite the disciplinary action, he is expected to continue his cricketing duties. However, the incident has sparked discussions within the cricket community about the importance of managing athletes’ digital presence and ensuring compliance with board regulations.
