National ( The cow news digital ) Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, has said that all parties involved in facilitating the recent diplomatic engagement between Iran and United States deserve appreciation for their efforts in promoting dialogue.
Speaking to media at Dahgal Naka on Adiala Road in Rawalpindi, he stated that Pakistan always stands with national interests and supports any initiative that contributes to regional peace and stability. He emphasized that his party’s stance on diplomatic developments is clear and consistent, adding that PTI welcomes efforts that contribute to global peace.
Barrister Gohar said that Pakistan’s diplomatic role on the international stage should be acknowledged, noting that the country continues to contribute positively toward peace efforts in the region. He added that ongoing conflicts have economic consequences not only for the countries involved but also for Pakistan and the broader global economy.
He further stated that PTI had publicly supported Pakistan’s role in promoting dialogue and even adjusted its political activities in light of national developments. According to him, political gatherings were postponed to acknowledge the importance of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagement.
Highlighting broader political concerns, he stressed that internal stability is essential for maintaining international credibility. He questioned how meaningful political engagement can occur if internal political dialogue is restricted or delayed.
Barrister Gohar also clarified that his party is not currently engaged in any formal negotiations with the government. He emphasized the need for consistency in promoting peace, stating that efforts to mediate externally should be matched by efforts to resolve internal political tensions.
He reiterated PTI’s position that militant groups such as the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan are considered terrorist organizations and pose a serious security challenge.
Regarding internal party matters, he said that the chairmanship of PTI is a trust and he would step down whenever instructed by the party founder Imran Khan. He also indicated that there is a possibility of renewed dialogue with the government in the coming weeks, though no formal process is currently underway.
