World ( The cow news digital ) Fujairah: Tensions in the Gulf region escalated sharply after Iran launched missile and drone attacks targeting oil infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates, leaving three foreign workers injured, according to official sources.
The UAE Ministry of Defense stated that a total of four missiles were fired from Iranian territory toward multiple locations across the country. Air defense systems intercepted three of the missiles successfully, while the fourth landed in the sea without causing damage or casualties. The ministry said the explosions heard in several areas were a result of defensive intercept operations.
Despite the interception of most missiles, a drone strike hit an oil facility in the industrial zone of Fujairah, triggering a large fire. Emergency response teams, including firefighters and civil defense units, were immediately deployed to the site to contain the blaze. Authorities later confirmed that the fire was brought under control after extensive efforts.
Three foreign workers were injured in the attack and were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Officials identified them as Indian nationals. Their current medical condition has not been publicly disclosed, though local reports suggest they sustained serious injuries.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the attacks, calling them a serious escalation and a direct threat to national security and regional stability. The ministry stated that the country reserves the right to respond to any aggression in accordance with international law.
The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route for oil transport. Earlier on the same day, Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces allegedly targeted a tanker operated by a UAE state-owned company using drones. No injuries or damage were reported in that incident as the vessel was reportedly empty at the time.
Security analysts warn that continued escalation between the two sides could have significant implications for global energy supplies and maritime security. The Gulf region remains a key corridor for international oil shipments, and any disruption could affect global markets.
