National ( The cow news digital ) A clearance operation in the Barkhan district of Balochistan resulted in the martyrdom of five security personnel and the killing of seven militants, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing stated that the operation was conducted in the Nosham area of Barkhan, where security forces carried out intelligence-based action against what officials described as an India-backed militant group referred to as “Fitna-e-Hindustan.”
ISPR reported that personnel from the Pakistan Army and the Frontier Corps Balochistan participated in the operation. During an intense exchange of fire, seven militants were killed on the spot. Authorities said weapons, ammunition, and explosive materials were recovered from the deceased militants.
The statement confirmed that five members of the security forces were martyred during the clash, including a field officer identified as Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti. The military paid tribute to the fallen personnel, describing them as brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
Officials said the operation was launched following credible intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. Security forces reportedly tracked and engaged the group in a targeted action aimed at dismantling their network.
ISPR further stated that operations against foreign-backed militancy will continue until complete elimination of such threats from the region. The military reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace and stability in Balochistan and across the country.
The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in parts of Balochistan, where forces regularly conduct intelligence-based operations against militant groups involved in attacks on security personnel and infrastructure.
Authorities have intensified counterterrorism efforts in recent months, focusing on dismantling militant hideouts and preventing cross-border terrorism activities.
