National ( The cow news digital ) Punjab, including Lahore, continues to experience intense heat and dry conditions, although weather officials have forecast chances of dust storms and scattered rainfall in several districts during the afternoon and evening hours.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, most areas of the province will remain hot and dry during the daytime. However, partly cloudy conditions accompanied by strong winds, thunderstorms, and isolated showers are expected later in the day as a weather system continues to affect the region.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 26°C, while the maximum could rise up to 38°C, making it a particularly hot day for residents. Meteorologists have also warned of possible gusty winds that may temporarily reduce visibility and increase discomfort in urban areas.
The forecast covers a wide belt of Punjab, including cities such as Rawalpindi, Murree, the Galiyat region, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sheikhupura, and Faisalabad, where thunderstorms and rain are expected at different intervals.
Southern and central districts including Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, and Okara may also experience scattered rain, strong winds, and lightning activity. In some areas, there is a possibility of hailstorms, according to weather officials.
Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures during strong winds and thunderstorms, particularly in open areas and near weak structures. Farmers have also been alerted to potential weather impacts on standing crops in certain regions.
The changing weather pattern is expected to provide temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave, although humid conditions may persist following rainfall. Meteorologists say the system is likely to remain active for a short period before gradually weakening.
