World ( The cow news digital ) Iran has reported additional casualties following alleged US airstrikes in the southern province of Hormozgan, as tensions between Tehran and Washington continue to escalate across the region.
According to Iranian state-linked media outlet Tasnim, Hormozgan’s deputy governor said that three people were killed and eight others were injured in recent US air attacks in the province. Iranian officials claimed the strikes targeted areas within Hormozgan, adding to earlier reported casualties from attacks in the same region.
A day earlier, Iranian authorities said eight civilians were killed in separate strikes in Hormozgan. The reported victims included four women, two disabled brothers, and four men, according to Iranian media reports.
Meanwhile, regional military activity has intensified, with several countries reporting security incidents linked to the wider conflict. Kuwait’s military said it intercepted hostile ballistic missiles and drones that entered its airspace. Officials stated that Iranian attacks targeted critical infrastructure, including electricity facilities and a desalination plant. The military also reported that several personnel were injured in drone-related incidents, but their conditions were described as stable.
Iran has also claimed to have carried out retaliatory operations against US and allied positions. Media reports said Tehran launched missile strikes on a US military base in Jordan, with multiple American personnel reportedly injured. No deaths were officially confirmed. Russian media outlets reported that US personnel had not been evacuated before the strike and suggested there were concerns over possible casualties.
In another development, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy claimed it had shot down a US MQ-9 drone near the airspace of Bushehr using an advanced air defense system. The claim has not been independently verified.
The IRGC also announced that it had carried out operations in the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that four tanker vessels attempting to pass through the strategic waterway in violation of regulations were intercepted through a combined missile and drone operation. Iranian officials further claimed that two oil tankers were destroyed after explosions in the southern section of the strait.
The latest developments have increased concerns over further escalation in the Gulf region, where the Strait of Hormuz remains a critical route for global energy shipments. International observers are closely monitoring military movements and diplomatic responses as both sides exchange accusations and announce new operations.
The situation remains fluid, with conflicting claims from Iranian and Western sources. Independent verification of several reported attacks and military claims is still pending.
