PESHAWAR (The COW News Digital ) Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed has explicitly instructed police personnel against facilitating any political marches, rallies, or processions heading toward Islamabad.
According to an official directive issued by IGP Zulfiqar Hameed, officers who receive instructions to facilitate such political events must immediately report the matter to his office. He warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against any officer violating judicial orders.
This directive follows similar instructions issued by the Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who barred government officials from assisting or providing administrative support to protest marches. The Chief Secretary strictly prohibited the unauthorized use of government resources and public funds, warning of stern departmental consequences for non-compliance.
The directives align with a recent ruling by the Islamabad High Court, which declared that no political party or provincial administration possesses the right to blockade highways leading to the national capital. The warning comes as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf prepares for its scheduled march toward Islamabad on September 27.
