ISLAMABAD (The COW News Digital ) The federal government has officially slashed profit rates across key National Savings schemes, issuing revised rates for September 2026.

According to updated notifications, profit margins have been reduced for major investment options, including Defense Savings Certificates and Bahbood Savings Certificates.

Under the revised structure, Defense Savings Certificates maintain a 10-year maturity period. An investment of Rs 100,000 will now yield Rs 300,000 upon full maturity. Annual return progressions on a Rs 100,000 investment stand at Rs 110,000 for the first year, gradually increasing each year to reach Rs 163,000 by the fifth year, Rs 262,000 by the ninth year, and reaching the final Rs 300,000 payout at the end of ten years.

Similarly, rates for Bahbood Savings Certificates have been lowered. Investors will now receive a monthly profit of Rs 1,050 per Rs 100,000 investment, translating to an annual return rate of 12.60 percent. The Bahbood scheme remains specifically tailored to provide financial support for senior citizens and widows.
