Washington (The COW News Digital) US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could face severe consequences if investigators establish a connection between Tehran and the dramatic incident involving a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv.

Trump made the remarks while speaking to reporters, saying Iran would be “hit very hard” if it is found to have been involved in the incident. However, he did not provide detailed evidence linking Iran to what happened aboard the aircraft.

The incident occurred aboard Flydubai flight FZ1073 on September 30. The Boeing 737 was traveling from Dubai toward Tel Aviv when a violent confrontation reportedly broke out in the cockpit. The aircraft subsequently experienced a rapid loss of altitude before passengers and crew members intervened.

According to preliminary findings reported by Saudi authorities, the co-pilot assaulted the captain during the flight, injuring both pilots. The aircraft was eventually diverted to Saudi Arabia and made an emergency landing in Tabuk.

The flight was carrying more than 170 people. During the incident, passengers helped restrain the co-pilot, while other pilots aboard the aircraft assisted in regaining control of the plane. The injured captain was also able to help facilitate access to the cockpit.

The aircraft landed safely at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Tabuk. Saudi, Emirati and Israeli authorities subsequently became involved in efforts to establish what happened and determine the circumstances surrounding the cockpit confrontation.

The United Arab Emirates has launched an investigation into the incident, including whether it may have been connected to terrorist activity or a premeditated act. Authorities have yet to announce a final conclusion regarding the motive or any external involvement.

Trump’s comments have added an international dimension to the investigation. When asked whether Washington believed Iran could be connected to the incident, the US president indicated that he had received information suggesting a possible link but stressed that the matter was still being examined.

Iran’s alleged involvement has not been established by the investigations publicly reported so far. Available reports indicate that authorities are still examining the motive of the co-pilot and whether anyone else was involved.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has also commented on the incident, while Israeli officials have raised concerns about the circumstances surrounding the attack. At the same time, investigators from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Israel continue examining the available evidence.

The incident comes against the backdrop of heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran. Trump’s warning therefore carries wider regional significance, particularly because he linked any potential US response to confirmation of Iranian involvement.

For now, however, no US military action against Iran has been announced in connection with the Flydubai incident. Investigations remain underway, and authorities are expected to provide further information as evidence is reviewed.

The immediate priority remains determining the exact motive behind the cockpit attack and establishing whether the incident was an isolated act or involved outside coordination. Until investigators reach a final conclusion, the reported connection between Iran and the incident remains unconfirmed.
