Rawalpindi ( The COW News Digital) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has accused authorities of carrying out a campaign of “political victimization” against her and other members of the PTI leadership, after she was once again stopped from meeting her brother at Adiala Jail.

Speaking to the media after being blocked at the Gorakhpur checkpoint, Aleema Khan expressed frustration over what she described as deliberate state actions to isolate the former prime minister. “Every day new warrants of arrest are being issued against us, yet we are denied the basic right to meet my brother,” she said.

She added that since April 7, family meetings with the PTI founder have been completely suspended, a move she termed unconstitutional and in violation of fundamental human rights. “We are not breaking any law, yet we are treated like criminals,” Aleema lamented. “The people in power violate the law daily, but no one holds them accountable. When we bring messages from Imran Khan, punishment awaits us.”

Aleema Khan criticized what she called the erosion of justice and the rule of law in Pakistan, saying that the authorities’ actions reflect the country’s growing democratic decline. “These are not just personal grievances — this is a test for our nation’s justice system,” she added.

The PTI leader’s sister also condemned the broader environment of political repression, asserting that basic democratic freedoms have been compromised under the current administration. “Today, even peaceful citizens and women are being targeted for their association with the PTI. This is a shame for any democratic state,” she remarked.

Her statement came amid heightened political tensions as the government faces criticism from human rights groups and opposition parties for allegedly silencing dissent through arrests, intimidation, and restrictions on political gatherings.

Aleema Khan reiterated that her family remains determined to stand by Imran Khan despite mounting pressure. “They can stop our meetings, they can issue more warrants, but they cannot silence our voice or our cause,” she concluded.

The ongoing restrictions on visits to Imran Khan have raised concerns over transparency in legal proceedings and the treatment of political prisoners in Pakistan.
