Islamabad The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has decided that no further payments will be made for gas consumption by Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) beyond June 30. The move comes in light of PSM’s continued financial difficulties and persistent defaults on payments to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC).

Officials stated that the decision aims to curb financial losses and ensure responsible use of public resources. The ECC emphasized that PSM must clear its outstanding dues and improve financial management before any future gas supply payments are considered.
