National ( The cow news digital ) Security forces have killed 24 militants during intelligence-based operations conducted in Bannu and surrounding areas, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing said that multiple exchanges of fire took place between security forces and militants over a 24-hour period in different areas of Bannu. As a result, 24 militants were eliminated, while a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from their possession.
According to ISPR, the militants were involved in several terrorist activities, including attacks targeting security personnel and innocent civilians. The recovered weapons and equipment were linked to their involvement in ongoing violent activities in the region.
The operations were launched following recent terrorist incidents in Bannu, including a suicide attack. Security forces have intensified their efforts through coordinated intelligence-based operations to eliminate militants and disrupt their support networks.
ISPR stated that security forces remain committed to countering terrorism and will continue operations with full determination until the threat is neutralized. The military emphasized that efforts against militants and their facilitators will continue across the country.
Bannu and adjoining areas have witnessed increased security activity due to recent militant attacks and attempts to disturb peace in the region. Security agencies have been conducting targeted operations based on intelligence reports to prevent further attacks and maintain public safety.
Officials have repeatedly stated that counterterrorism operations are focused on eliminating armed groups, dismantling their infrastructure, and preventing them from carrying out attacks against civilians and security forces.
