World ( The cow news digital ) Bollywood actress Kirti Kulhari has fallen victim to a cyber fraud scheme after unidentified scammers unauthorizedly used her credit card details to siphon off over 243,000 Indian rupees.
According to Indian media reports, the incident occurred on the night of July 24 while the 43-year-old actress was traveling to a multiplex in Andheri West, Mumbai. Kulhari received a real-time banking alert notifying her of an unauthorized foreign currency transaction made from her account.
The alert indicated a payment of $2,525 billed under the name of Aeroméxico Airlines, prompting the actress to immediately report the issue to her bank. The bank swiftly blocked the compromised card to prevent further financial loss.
Following the incident, a formal complaint was lodged against unknown suspects at the Amboli Police Station in Mumbai. Cyber crime specialists have been brought in to assist with the ongoing investigation.
Preliminary inquiries indicate that the credit card credentials were likely stolen through a digital breach or phishing mechanism, as the actress confirmed she had not shared her PIN or confidential banking details with anyone. Law enforcement officials are currently analyzing transaction trails and digital footprints to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
