World ( The cow news digital ) Saudi Minister of Defense Prince Khalid bin سلمان has held an urgent meeting with US President Donald Trump to deliver a special message from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, according to American media reports.
The high-level meeting follows discussions between the Saudi Defense Minister and US Vice President JD Vance, during which regional security and rising tensions with Iran were addressed. Prince Khalid emphasized that Saudi Arabia remains committed to de-escalation, noting that recent strikes against pro-Iranian Iraqi militias were conducted because those groups crossed a red line by targeting critical infrastructure and energy facilities.
Clarifying the rationale behind the military action in Iraq, the minister stressed that the operations were aimed at demonstrating the Kingdom’s readiness to defend its territory rather than escalating broader regional conflict. He also pointed out to Vice President Vance that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pushing to heighten tensions with Tehran, whereas Saudi Arabia firmly views de-escalation as the more constructive path forward.
Citing informed sources, US media reported that the retaliatory strikes in Iraq were also intended to send a clear deterrent signal to Houthi forces in Yemen. Prince Khalid assured US leadership that Saudi Arabia possesses the full capability to deal with the Houthis independently, adding that American military intervention regarding the Houthi issue is currently unnecessary as diplomatic negotiations with the group remain ongoing.
