National ( The cow news digital ) KARACHI: Renowned Pakistani morning show host Nida Yasir has strongly criticized the prevailing societal norm where married men continue to rely financially on their parents, deeming it an unhealthy and flawed trend.

In a video clip that recently went viral on social media, the television host emphasized that parents must focus on raising self-reliant children. She stressed that families should only arrange marriages for their sons once the men are capable of earning a living and managing their own household expenses independently.

Comparing local practices with Western societies, Nida Yasir noted that youth abroad routinely start taking financial responsibility for their higher education and house rent by the age of 18.

Highlighting what she termed as double standards in Pakistani society, the host pointed out that parents often either subject young children to forced labor or allow full-grown men in their 40s and 50s to remain financially dependent on their fathers. She concluded that merely providing children with a university degree is insufficient; the true duty of parents is to guide their children toward standing on their own two feet.
