World ( The cow news digital ) Pakistan has rejected reports suggesting that it has withdrawn from efforts to facilitate peace between Iran and the United States, saying that its diplomatic initiatives remain active and focused on promoting dialogue and stability in the region.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said during a weekly press briefing that tensions currently remain dominant, but expressed hope that the approach of peace and negotiations would eventually prevail. He stated that the peace process does not end but may face temporary delays due to challenging circumstances.
The spokesperson said that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding remains an effective and workable framework for resolving differences. He added that once the parties move away from confrontation, the restoration of peace could be pursued through the same framework.
Tahir Andrabi emphasized that Pakistan’s position regarding regional conflicts has remained consistent. He said Pakistan has condemned armed attacks against all countries and has repeatedly stressed the importance of sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He reiterated that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only path toward resolving disputes, adding that all parties would ultimately need to return to the negotiating table to address their differences.
The Foreign Office spokesperson also highlighted concerns over the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, saying that the ongoing tensions are affecting several countries in terms of energy supplies, trade, and food security. He stressed that restoring normal conditions in the strategic waterway, along with ensuring freedom of navigation and maritime security, is essential.
Pakistan, he said, supports uninterrupted trade and the smooth supply of petroleum products through the Strait of Hormuz. He added that Islamabad continues diplomatic engagement with important regional countries to encourage de-escalation and peaceful solutions.
According to the spokesperson, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently held telephone conversations with Qatar’s leadership and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian regarding the regional situation. During these discussions, the importance of diplomatic efforts, negotiations, and implementing commitments made by all sides was highlighted.

The Foreign Office also provided an update on Pakistan-US trade negotiations, saying that discussions between the two countries are continuing and significant progress has been made. The talks aim to expand bilateral trade and diversify Pakistani exports.
Tahir Andrabi said both countries have made progress on several issues of mutual interest and that communication channels between Pakistan and the United States remain open for future cooperation.
