BISHKEK (The COW News Digital) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran is fully prepared to fulfill its commitments under the nuclear agreement, provided the United States returns to its obligations under the interim framework reached earlier in June.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Tehran’s stance regarding ongoing diplomatic tensions with Washington, emphasizing that reciprocal action depends on American compliance.

“If the US returns to its responsibilities under the interim agreement reached in June, Iran will immediately respond in kind,” Pezeshkian noted during an address carried by state media. He reiterated that Tehran remains willing to proceed with negotiation mechanisms if Washington proves its readiness to uphold mutually agreed terms.

The statement comes amidst renewed geopolitical friction between the two nations following recent military strikes and retaliatory measures. Global observers have focused on whether diplomatic channels can be restored to prevent further escalation in the Middle East.

Iran has consistently maintained that any viable negotiations require mutual trust and strict adherence to commitments, criticizing unilateral actions and demanding that Washington fulfill its obligations before asking Tehran to curb its nuclear activities.
