Karachi ( The COW News Digital)In a bizarre and cinematic-style burglary, thieves in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Hadeed Phase II area made away with valuables worth nearly Rs. 900,000, leaving residents and police equally stunned. The unusual heist occurred within the jurisdiction of Steel Town Police Station and has sparked curiosity due to its dramatic execution.

According to initial police reports, unidentified burglars broke into a house late Monday night and stole cash, saving bonds, and expensive household items. However, what set this burglary apart was not just the financial loss but the theatrics left behind by the culprits.

After looting the house, the thieves bizarrely drew caricatures and humorous cartoons on the walls, using red markers. They went further by marking family photographs and children’s portraits with red ink, leaving the residents deeply disturbed. The burglars also inscribed a cryptic, film-like message on the dressing table mirror in English, resembling the plot of a suspense thriller.

The strange behavior created the impression that the crime was orchestrated not by ordinary burglars but by a gang seeking to leave a symbolic signature. Neighbors told police they had never witnessed such a strange and dramatic burglary in their community before.

The incident has sparked debate in the neighborhood, with many comparing it to scenes from Bollywood crime thrillers where thieves leave behind “calling cards” to taunt authorities. “It almost feels like they wanted to shock us more than steal,” a resident remarked while speaking to reporters.

Police have launched an investigation, collecting fingerprints and reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the suspects. Investigators are also examining whether the unusual markings and messages carry any hidden meaning or if they were merely an attempt to confuse law enforcement.

While burglaries are not uncommon in Karachi, the theatrical nature of this incident has highlighted the psychological impact on victims who not only lost valuables but also felt targeted in a disturbing, mocking manner.

Law enforcement officials assured residents that they were treating the matter seriously and would track down the culprits. “No matter how unusual the method, crime is crime, and those responsible will be brought to justice,” a police spokesperson said.

The incident has gone viral on social media, with many calling it one of the most “movie-like” burglaries Karachi has seen in recent years.
